Downton Abbey Wedding Photography Eastbourne Grand Hotel

Rebecca and Marc’s wedding was one i had been looking forward to for quite a long time. It was loosely going to be a Downton Abbey theme throughout the day and as the main event was at the stunning Eastbourne Grand Hotel, they had chosen the perfect venue for their wedding day. The Grand Hotel, has been referred to as “Downton by the Sea” due to its roots and architecture.

I started photography with the bridal preparations at the Grand and then left for East Dean and the pretty church nestled in the South Downs. The ceremony was perfect and after the family group shots outside, we drove to Birling Gap for a few photos and then up onto the Downs overlooking Eastbourne.

The drinks reception took place in the Princes’ Room and after allowing Rebecca and Marc some time to enjoy the company of their guests i took them away for just a few moments to create some special images within the beautiful hotel. This really gave that old fashioned and elegant feel to their pictures, all adding to the theme.

Stephen Hall, the Toastmaster called for dinner and this was served in the Compton Room a magnificent ball room with high decorative ceilings that really give the hotel its WOW FACTOR!

Speeches followed the wedding breakfast and this included an amazing gift for Marc from the Chairman of his beloved Everton FC, Bill Kenwright.

After a break for the Compton Room to be prepared for dancing, the party began after the first dance. The evening’s entertainment was provided by Disco Fever and i slipped away into the night.

The slideshow shows a few moments of the day. All were captured on my Nikon D3s using available light and my small video light, which was used for the first dance.
