Portrait Photographer Sussex

Its been a madly busy time for the portrait side of my professional photography business. As a portrait photographer Sussex i love the diversity of the shoots i receive commissions for. Most take place out on location or at the family home.

Neal and Sue had used me as their photographer for their artwork and CDs. Both are very talented musicians and i am proud to say that my pictures of Sue were the featured images on her latest album cover. “Too Cool” is a tribute album to the life and music of the legendary Chet Baker and i was very excited to be part of the project, as well as forthcoming projects that i am collaborating on with Neal for his record label.

It was lovely to be invited to the family home to photograph their young son, Oscar as well as some relaxed and natural family pictures. Using only natural light, i worked quickly to ensure the images kept their relaxed and spontaneous look. Oscar seemed to really enjoy himself throughout!

Anyway despite the short amount of time we had and as the weather outside was awful, preventing shots out and about, i was very happy with the results and variety. I know the family love them too which is always the most important thing!

The images in the slideshow were all shot on my trusty Nikon D3s with my 24-70 2.8 lens. I generally shoot wide open which together with my lighting techniques allow the images to be almost three dimensional. I always prefer monochromic images for my portraits, but of course, i also produced some colour shots too to add variety for the family.
